Don’t get me wrong, I think the iPhone 4 is an awesome phone and a big leap forward for Apple and the entire iPhone line, but I am not going to rush out and get one. Now yes, I will be jealous at everyone who get’s one, but I have a few good reasons why I will not be getting an iPhone 4, or at least not immediately. Again, I will be getting an iPhone 4, but just not as soon as it comes out, so here are some of my reasons why.

I have an iPhone 3G S - I had my “Apple Fanboy Moment” last year holding off on the iPhone 3G and getting the 3G S. I was happy, and still am very happy. The 3G S will still be getting a fully finctional version of iOS 4 with multitasking and all. I also can record videos on the fly and upload them to very easily. I have a 3 mega pixel camera that still works fine. Remember people, this is still a phone.

I don’t need a Retna display – Yes it looks gorgoues, but all I really do on my 3G S is read email, tweets, and surf the web. I never play back movies on it, that is what my iPad is for.

I don’t need 720p video recording on my iPhone – Oh it would be nice! I will admit it, but I have a Kodak Zi8, and it is about the same size as the iPhone and it does 108p HD recoding with digital IS and a Macro Mode. Sure it is nice to have the connivence on my iPhone that I am carrying around, But I bring the Zi8 almost everywhere just because the quality is great for the size! We’ll have to see how the 2 stack up!

Face Time is going to take time to take off - Apple really hit a home run by including a front facing camera on the iPhone 4 and adding a video calling featue called Face Time, but let’s face it, until enough people have iPhone 4s, and until we are able to do it off of Wifi, and on 3G, there is really no point in getting soon. I am the geekiest person of all my friends and family, I know no one will be pre ordering, or even getting an iPhone 4 in the first year! Who am I going to video call, a demo unit at the Apple store? And a Wifi-Only restricition is just another burrrier that I hate! AT&T is looking for any loop hole they can find to get us to ease up on our data consumption. We saw a few week ago they changed their data plans. C’mon AT&T, improve your network, make people want to use your network and not be forced to use it just because they want to use an iPhone.

I can tether on my 3GS - Yep, I can. Pretty simply put, I don;t need to buy a new phone for this.

My Mom and Sister will be switching in a few months, I can wait - My Mom and Sister are coming to an end on there 2 year contract with Verizon and will be jumping ship for an iPhone 4 in just a few months. I can wait just a little while. At least then I can have someone to video chat with! And yes, I am eligible for an upgrade according to AT&T.

I bought an iPad! - I had another one of my “Apple Fanboy Moments” just last month as I pre-ordered my Wifi iPad, and tracked it overseas to my door step. It was a great experience and I am still enjoying my iPad today!

And this last point it probably the most important one of all….

I just bought a Mac Pro! - I have been looking for a new editing rig, and this will be it. (Look for a future post explaning why i got ordered a Mac Pro) The Mac Pro is a pretty awesome computer and I must admit, after specing it out, getting the monitors, and other goodies, this thing was not cheap! Far from cheap! So I really don’t have the money to spend on an iPhone 4.

So there you go. There are my reasons why I will not be immediately rushing out to the store and buying an iPhone 4. Now like I said, without a doubt in my mind, I will be getting an iPhone 4 sometime in 2010, but just not right now. I will be interested to see the camera quality and see how exactly well Face Time works. So let me know in the comments, will you be pre-ordering or waiting in line for an iPhone 4, or are you happy with the phone you have now?

Veriznon iPhone is a term being used more and more lately, and not just from rumours. There have been rumors since the original iPhone that the iPhone would get off of AT&T after the first year and move. For years, we have seen nothing, not even a little sign, not a glimpse of hope. There have been a lot of rumors, but none that have been confirmed. But afte almost 4 years, are we finally going to see the iPhone switch over to Verizon?

Now what makes me say this? What proof do I have? Well of course like most companies, AT&T will never admit when they are defeated. They just want their customers to believe everything is all wonderful and fine, that we have nothing to worry about. But the truth is, it’s not. AT&T published an open letter yesterday explaining why there ETF(Early Termination Fee) would rise to $325! What?! Wait a second, look closely.

Beginning June 1, 2010,

Hmmm.. interesting. Now you might be saying: Okay, June 1st. So what. What’s the big deal?” The big deal is that this particualr date falls very close to WWDC, Apple World Wide Developer Conference where they will most likley announce the new iPhone. Now if the new iPhone will infact be heading to Verizon, AT&T will give its “valued customers” its last blow with hiking the ETF! Date coincidence? No. Now if the iPhone does jump shimp, will I switch. Let me give you a few good points of why.

Let me first off give you my back story with AT&T. Like 75% of AT&T customers, I am an iPhone user, and like most AT&T customers, I switched from Verizon specifically for the iPhone. Specifically! I did so back in 2007 with the original iPhone and regretting the choice ever since. Now when I first got the iPhone, like most people, I was so in love with the device and all of the things it could do, I flat out ignored the service. Making phone calls was something I hardly did. About a month after the “wow factor” wore off, I started seeing just how bad the AT&T network really was.

Now don’t get me wrong, if you go somewhere where AT&T gets really good coverage, you are set! Phone calls are great, 3G is faster than ever, and everything is great! The problem is, that that scarcely ever happens. 95% of the time, it’s poor reception and lousy 3G data speeds. Another one of the biggest issues I have, is that I do almost every call I get! Very frustrating! Even at my house, where Verizon shines, AT&T drops every call! Every.Single.Call. That to me is where the line is drawn.

Now why am I still with AT&T? Because of the iPhone. No one else has it! I’m either stuck with awful service and an amazing phone, or great service and not so great phones. At this point, I am no Android Fan. So I am forced to be stuck with AT&T.

Now with no light shining on the Verizon iPhone the question is will I switch? Yes! Of course I would! Now here is what AT&T needs to understand. Your “valued customers” will pay $325 and leave you so fast your head will spin! Just think of all the money they will loose! They won’t be getting my $80 a month, ever again! You will see me sleeping outside the Verizon store waiting for that iPhone! Now granted, Verizon is not God’s holy carrier, they aren’t perfect. But as far as I am concerned, they are WAY better than AT&T, and that is what it really comes down to.

Now AT&T is trying so, so hard to save them selves. I could only imagine how there executives must cringe to make a deal to ell $15 and $30 data plans with Apple. They know that as soon as Apple exclusivity leaves them, there done! All they will be left with is people buying the cheaper, feature phones. All those iPhone “data hogs” will be gone, for good. Now At&T says in their defense that iPhone users hinder there network. Hinder your network? Are you kidding? You are a nation wide cellular service provider, you should have been ready! When the iPhone debuted on the EDGE network, you should have been working hard on 3G! When the iPhone came out on 3G, you should have been ready for the data load! When the 3G S came out with a better camera and video recording functionality, you should have been ready for all of them to upload 10 min videos to Youtube simotaniously. Expect the worse, hope for the best. And here we are almost a year later from the promise of AT&T;s Tethering plan, and nothing. Still no tethering. Don’t get mad for people jailbreaking there phones, just to get something that was promised to us, and never received.

So what’s your take on this? If the iPhone does infact switch to Verizon, would you switch? Or will say with AT&T?

This is my cell phone, the iPhone. It’s sleek, sexy, and very user friendly. love it. But, my sisster on the other and is currently using a RV3 Razor. And my sister thinks that she will be getting an iPhone 3G (remember she thinks” ANyways, i have been getting a lot of emails asking which cell phone has the bestUI? Well, I didn’t have many cell phones to work with so I used my Iphone and a Razor representing every other phone then the iPhone (just kidding )

At first use, the iPhone is very easy. You see big arrow and flashing words saying “Slide to Unlock”
The icons are very big, nice readble text, and an overall great ui. But still somepeople say “Well, the voyager has vibration feedback, etc etc.) Me, when I see the app open I know I hight the write button. Now, one of the nice things with the iPhone is, I think iyt is prett ovious s to touch an icon for it to execure it. Now sometime speople I know have gotten confused with the voyager and other touch screen phones. Do you touch it or not?

Now the Razor UI is not the best in my opinion but, my sister thinks it is very user friendly. The buttons are straight forward and pretty user friendly. Now granted, the buttons are easy but, let;s say you broke your hand and had a phone like that, that is harder. Overall, it has a pretty good UI but, the menus I would like to see improved.

The nest subject is: How well can I see my service, The time, and battery Health
The iPhone it is very easy to see it. Most cell phones the service is show by the Bars indicating your service , the time with standard time, and the battery with a usual battery symbol. The iPhone gives all of these easily, but the razor is a little bit different.

With the razor is has 2 screens. Before you flip the phone, on the front. And the second is inside the phone. Now what is nice about the razor and mostly another flip phone, they give you the basic info on the front of the phone. The date, and the time

Ok that is it. The best UI for me (drum roll) iPhone ftw!

This time last year almost everyone had the “iPhone Hype”. Apple had the glamorous adds, the best tv commercials money could buy, and that little thing called the Apple Logo. people camped out side of Apple Stores across the U.S> for days just hoping they could maybe just feel the smooth texture of the iPhone cas. See the “iPhone” txt on every iPhone box. Many people have got it home in 1 piece and haved spent hours unboxing, tweeting, emialing, and telling people about their new iPhone. But, some people could withstand the powerful want of havign an iPhone. They waited because they new that Apple had something up their sleevs, they new soon that their would be fastter, better, and more productiove iPhone. They called it the “iPhone 3G” And today that wall was broken. Between iPhone lovers and Apple. Today Apple showed the world what it is made of. It presented the iPhone 3G!

Today at the WWDC (World WIde Develepor’s Confrence) Apple gave it’s keynote on the iPhone 3G. I listned to it through an audio stream and was very interseted. In March Apple showd off the iPhone SDK plan and how it would effect current users. I thought it was pretty cool. An App Store awas a great idea. And now with the iPhone 3G all of Apple’s plans are coming together. 3G speeds are nice but , Â I have an iPhone. Why would I go out and spend $200 for a iPhone taht is a little faster. I mean don’t getme wrong 3G sppeds are great, but like I said i have an Iphone. I was sucked into the iPhone hype. The only thing on my mind is the Software.

Apple says that for all current iPhone users that their should be a simple software update coming. 2.0 I presume. This is what I am lookign foward too and hope to see in 2.0 software update

Â

App Store

Push E-mail , Contacts, Calender

Map features (Possibly GPS)

iPhone SDK turn out

In March when Apple announced iPhone SDK and the App Store I couldn’t be more thrilled. i thoght it was a great idea. Some people out there actually now what they are doing and can make a good app. The announcement that the app creator could pick the price, what the icing on the cake. I will most likey get many apps form the App store.

Push E-Mail,Contacts, and Calender are great ideas. These new features will revolutionize business and iPhone.

I actually use iPhone’s Google map feature more then I ever thought. I use it to find local restaurants, to find destinations, and even just too look around the area. Â I think for the new update they should enhance these features even more. Enhance real time traffic and other things.

I am very anxious to see how the iPhone SDK turns out. Will it be a fenomnal success as people sya. Or will it burn out?

I am very anxious to see what Apple has to bring to the table next…                       Â
