 The news spread like a burning tech wildfire in the early hours of September 2nd. The news was big. Everyone knew it was coming but, they did dnot know  that it was coming now. The news was big, HUGE, the news was Google Chrome. Google Chrome is Google’s long awaited browser. Google Chrome is supposed to be the king of the web browser group and it completley open source. Chrome is based off of Webkit and has a lot of cool features. Ya they are good but I have some diffrent ideas for Google Chrome…

                           Â

Google Chrome is essentially an online OS. It has some features that are very good. For example, being able to run tabs like their own browser is nice. For example if you are doing some banking information on 1 tab, and on the other you are playing a game, Usally, if 1 tab crashes the whole browser crashes, yor data is lost, and then you have go back in and redo evetything. Granite Firefrox does let you restore your previous session but, in Google Chrome only the tab 1 tab would crash, leaving the rest of the web browser competley untouched. That is very,very,very nice! I am a multi window/tab kinda guy and I hate when my browser carshes! It is so anoying! Well Google Chrome fixes this issue.

Â

My favroite feature of the whole browser is speed! For me, speed is king! That is exactly why  I am currently on Safari and using it as my main browser. It is fast! Speedy! Now Google Chrome is fast as well! Now I heard it was fast and I am  thinking, “Right,fast…” but dang dude! This is pretty  fast! Now you can’t  deem a browser is “fast” by just loading up yahoo.com or google for that matter. You have to do a hardcore heavily coded  java scripted page or flash site. Like Live.Pirillo.Com for example. And I must say, it is fast. That I is 1 feature that get’s a 10 in my book.

Â

Now Google Chome is no all god. I have to dish some major things out.

Â

Where the heck is the UI?

Google=Search! Google Chrome=??

Open Source Owns!

Â

Where the heck is the UI? Google Development Team, wake up!! I understand Chrome is still in Beata but I see a User Interface that is a little to plain. Now I know Chome is supposed to be simple but, dude ahhh! LOOK!  There needs to be more options. I also found interesting was th lack of features Chrome has. Now don’t get me wrong it has the basics but, besides that nothing much is left. Google wake up! There is no excuse for this kind of UI! There is a line between simple and retarded.

“Google it” That is just the answer to everything in life. Just Google it! Google has been the #1 search engine for years, For me when I think about Google and a browser I think one thing SEARCH! There are tons of ways to view content on the intwerwebs.  My favorite’s happen to be: viewze.tv anda great plugin for Firefox called Piclens. When I think of Google I think “How can I search?” Google should have intergrated methods like these into Chrome.Better yet talked to the developers and put it in! Google = Search! How can i search today?!

Â

Open Source wins the match. Being able to take the whole Google Chrome code and build apon it shows the power of open source. I think that Viewze, Piclens, and other great compannies should build apon Chrome and make evne better,faster, more secure. (Oh and a little graphic artwork would be appreciated)

Â

If you are thinking of trying Chrome go ahed! The downside is at the time of this post, Chrome is in Beat for Windows only. So us Mac users must wait. Now that is another stupid thing. WIndows….? Open it up to everyone! Are you afraid of some Apple user’s telling it like it is? Try Chrome for yourself. Leave comments. I want to know what you think!
