My Kodak Zi8 First Impressions

BLOWN AWAY! Those are the 2 words that the Kodak Zi8 brings to mind. Tjis baby is very, very cool!  My first impressions.. it is great. Now, I say this comparing it to its “little brother” the Zi6 I bought just about a year back. I was impressed with it at the time. But man, a ton of things can change in a year! The Zi8 bats the capability to shoot 180p HD Video! Nice! It also has built in image stabalaztion, external microphone jack, removable lithon ion battery, and of course, a much wider angle lens! Now that for me is the turning point. I loved the Zi6, but the lens on it was absolute junk! Horrible lens. But the Zi8 spots a kick-but one.

Now this camera might sound great, but are there any downfalls? Yes. Unfortunately, playing videos back full screen tends to give them a very grainy feel. Another downfall to the camera is the price. Unfortunately, this baby will set you back around $200. Now you could take this money, put it away and save more, and in a few months be able to buy a full on consumer HD camera. But, it isn’t a bad price for all your getting out of it. I say make the investment. Spend the extra money and use it . I have already recorded at least 15 videos which I am currently in the process of editing and posting online. I love the camera that much!
